SOME PEOPLE, and you know who you are, will laugh, but I must ask: if I know someone has a Twitter feed, but they don't do LJ, is there a way to get their Twitter without going to the Twitter page? Can I add it as an RSS feed or something?
Oh, I don't mind it, but it'd be easier to get it in LJ. But now I think on't, pointless unless he has something to consolidate them, like LoudTwitter.
An alternative is to use an RSS aggregator, which includes things like Google Reader and (surprise!) Safari. Personally, I love having Google Reader as an option.
I don't think you're set up with Gmail/Google, so here are some Mac things to try. These are based on my experimentation right now, since I use Google Reader for my feeds. I like being able to access them anywhere.
Enter the feed URL into the Safari location bar. You can now create a bookmark from it, either in your Bookmarks menu or by dragging onto your Bookmarks Bar. Another option on this page is to click on "Subscribe in Mail" (on the bottom right of the feed page).
Trying the last thing, I think this is what you'll want to do. You can also subscribe directly in Mail. Open it, then click the "+" icon in the lower left. Choose "Add RSS feeds...". Paste in the feed URL. You now have an RSS feed on the left. You can even add it to your inbox.
You can also set options for reading RSS feeds in both Safari and Mail. Experiment—it's a Mac. ^.^
