She actually told me today that I'm not allowed to talk to my mom any more about my business. What was the catalyst to this? Mom actually said-- I fucking kid you not-- that my business is a hobby, and it's time I got a real job.

Fuck you. That's it. Fuck you. Don't ever again give me the bullshit about how you "support me." I'm so incredibly disappointed. Pissed and disappointed.

I'm gonna watch the last of Season Two, maybe a bit of Three, maybe nap, and then work my ass off on my "hobby" for twelve hours or so. "Hobby." Fuck you.

According to the IRS and to me, the difference between a hobby and profession is the manner in which it is treated.

I have never known you to treat any situation or opportunity with a customer with anything other than professional respect and diligence.

Mothers are who they are, and were simply raised at a time when things were different. We've come so far as a society and as consumers in these 30 years and she simply doesn't have the knowledge to speak of such matters.

I've been taking current businesses and stepping them up a notch, helping them help themselves. If you want, I will gladly loan myself up to you for this.
