I shouldn't have done this, but I did. There's one idiot who mouths off on the Wench board that I. Cannot. Stand. This time, it was Te Ebil Islam! Such ignorance and racism is staggering. And we allow it because it's "okay." Just like it was okay to say such things about "the evil Huns" in WWI. I couldn't keep my mouth shut any more.

Just like there are Christians who give Christianity a horrible, inexplicable name-- Fred Phelps, Pat Robertson-- there are people, even countries, who give Islam a bad name. We probably all know Muslims that we deal with every day and who've never tried to hurt us in any way. Has there been some sudden influx of US attacks from the Phillipines? It's a country of Muslims. Did I miss something? To imply that every Muslim is a Western-hating, psychotic suicide bomber is not only ludicrous, it's horrifically racist. It's vile.

The rioters in Sudan are the problem. The people who hate the West are, in this case, the problem. Those who adhere to a strict, merciless interpretation of Sharia law are the problem. Radicalism is the problem. Islam is NOT the problem.

I had an issue with the minister that lives next door to me. He caught me reading the Koran on my way to the bus (My sister's husband is Muslim and I wanted to have something to speak with him aboutand I know he's very devout so I chose religion).
Anyway the minister comes up to me and says (You know that's full of lies and evil. Don't let it corrupt a good christian man like you).
I looked him in the eye and said "I'm Noe-Pagan n ot christian, and this book holds less evil and corruption than the King James bible that you so loving fuck every sunday."

Needless to say he hasn't spoken to me since.

I imagine it's probably one of the same women that had me turn right around and walk away from the wench board. While the majority of the wenches I've met (the CTRF wench hostel for instance) are amazing people, I've met some real skunts too.

After a throw down with "The Rogue" years ago, I never went back. I've never seen so many hens cluck over that guy. He was a patronizing dick head to me, and then resorted to petty crap when I had the audacity to disagree with something he said. That was when the flying monkey women descended upon me for daring to question their token penis.

My dear, this is why I stopped visiting entirely. The people who need to say things the loudest are the ones who are either the least secure, or the least aware that people agree with them or give a flying fuck what they have to say...and really there isn't much reason to deal with either group. Or the popularity contest already mentioned above.

I went and read the thread. One of the comments struck me. So my question is, if the teacher's students had wanted to name a bear "God," would she have objected?

I'm not defending the protestors. I'm saying I see their point. I think they're being inflammatory and irrational in calling for her death, but think of us. We don't allow LICENSE PLATES with potentially objectionable content. One fellow here in St. Pete had his taken away. What did it read? "Atheist."

We can't name ourselves God or get tags to that effect.

It's so culturally ingrained in us that we don't even conceive of it.

I'm sorry that Sudan is not taking the opportunity to educate the world to their views instead of acting murderous.

And I'm seriously considering renaming one of my cats God when I take them in for their shots and tags next spring.

like I said, he's not normally a bad person - he's just very much an inflammatory poster and has a tendency to let his sarcastic streak get in the way of his logical brain patterns.
