Date: 2006-12-24 09:41 am (UTC)Re: sickness... This year, my stepfather Edgar had an uneventful and successful sextuple cardiac bypass. My mom recovered from breast cancer and is in full remission. A third procedure on my left optic nerve left me with worse vision (<80%) but completely alleviated the crippling neuralgia. I cannot have ever hoped for a better outcome.
As for divorce, I've had none this year. Heartbreak... no more than usual. War... well, the number of troops killed in Viet Nam (uh, Iraq), has now exceeded the number of innocent civilians murdered in the September Eleventh disaster - I can't do anything about that except the usual letters and street protests.
Fear? I have none. When the Apollo asteroid strikes Earth, I won't give a shit.
Stupidity? That I fear more than anything. Walk out your front door in America and there it is. No wonder other countries dislike the U.S....
As for the dream "all that" guy... I can't help with that. With my extensive experience, I can say with relative certainty, that he/she may not exist. I've known many women with three of those four qualities. But all four? Gosh, I don't know if that's possible. I usually go for cute/funny/sexy; but I really should go for cute/funny/stable....
