It was 26 years ago tonight that the curtains opened, the music crashed, the spotlight haloed Nick Rhodes in golden light, and I thought, "If HE can make his living through art, so can I." So here I am, still trying. Still no groupies, though.

I remember my first Duran Duran concert, December 1, 1993. There were no curtains but the venue was pitch black to allow them to walk on stage. I'll never forget the moment the lights came on, the crowd roared and the music started. Magical. I can definitely relate.
