Why should they give me the same price? Well, partly cos I JUST bought the damned thing and have already replaced it once, but also? Don't let me upgrade? Okay. I hear Verizon's getting the iPhone soon....

Soon is a relative term, the information suggests the end of next year. Not soon enough, but soon enough to take advantage of the new network.

Is it wrong to assume that any other provider would also try to ream someone for trying to upgrade hardware outside the 'cheap upgrade window' stipulated in their contracts?

Disclaimer: I am perfectly happy with my battle-damaged 3G attached to my current plan, and have not shopped for a provider in several years.

I am right there with you Nikki. Me and Kate got ours in April so we are stuck as well. At least we will all get the 3.0 update when it comes out?
