I don't know why, but for this whole media circus, I've thought, "Nah. Can't be the same Spector." Well, yes, actually, it can be. Brilliant "Wall of Sound" Phil Spector, with one of the most celebrated C.V.s in American music.

Have you heard the album he did with Leonard Cohen- Death of a Ladies' Man? It'd be Cohen's worest if it weren't for how abyssmal the music of the 80s became (that's why his songs make great covers). "Won't you let me see (Your naked Body)" is the exemplary mark of the "Wall of Sound" But, um. yeah. Then there's "Don't go home with your hard-on"

You wanna hear something wild? I know Spector's current wife, Rachelle Short. She was one of my best friends for a while in high school. We met at a party, even though we lived in different towns and for a while we were close.
