 From today's Doonesbury.com:

"Remember your history and pray for President Obama to fail. I fear for America if we allow him to succeed."

Oh come now. It's Ted Nugent. The guy thinks conservation is something you do to trophy animals after you've shot them on safari, to keep their heads from rotting whilst hanging on your wall. (I know: I played basketball on the same team as his daughter Sasha in high school. His wife was my sister's cheerleading coach. Etc.)

Actually, I have been spending some time studing the history of the 1920's through the 1930's and the policies that he is proposing are remarkably similar to those that were tried then. The result then was that the depression lasted 10 years here while the rest of the world recovered in about 4.
I just pray for both parties to fail with the policies that they are proposing.

WRI

First...what history are we meant to remember here? Secondly, if our President fails, does that not mean all sorts of bad things for all Americans?

Of course, we're discussing the quotations of a man who wore loin cloths, became the legal guardian of a minor he was shagging to avoid prosecution, and has a child he has never met (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ted_Nugent#Personal_life). We should all consider his advice the gospel:)
