Tea at PARF this season, like
snugglyevil proposed. But let's make it something new and very, very different:
Renaissance Steampunk.
Weird? Yes. Creative? HELL, yes! Now we just have to figure out when. Not Labor Day weekend, cos I think I'll be in Atlanta, but one day. Yes? I'm dying to see what people come up with!

Oh what have you done... I now have a sketch for a "computational bracer"... leather with an attached miniature abacus, a small hourglass, compass, sundial, and miniature sextant, all connected with gears and pull chains (like clock workings)...

Date: 2009-03-16 08:29 pm (UTC)I consider steampunk a science fiction fantasy style existing in an era where steam power was primarily used - thus set in the Victorian or Edwardian era. There can be two views: renaissance punk (relabeled as DaVincipunk? Astropunk? Alchemypunk?...) should follow the same lines or is simply a replacing of the Victorian era with the Renaissance era. The sci-fi element allows for the existence of modern technology adapted to the time in either case.
