Date: 2009-03-11 02:01 pm (UTC)Unfortunately, yes.
I also feel like I've looked at this location before. Nothing is obviously this house, based on Google Maps StreetView, but that doesn't necessarily mean anything.
Do keep us informed as to what happens!

Date: 2009-03-11 02:17 pm (UTC)I am trying to wrap my head around how that could be considered a proper reply to asking for a showing of a property...
*scratches head*
And yeah - doesn't quite sound kosher to me...

ETA: I realise that the location is different, but the other information all matches (tone, wording, age of the daughter, "vinyard of the Lord", etc.)

Date: 2009-03-11 03:48 pm (UTC)I think we have a "winner" here.... *sighs*
To "ensure confidence", they'll probably ask for bank account and other personal/financial information, etc., then drain/use whatever information they get.
Nice catch.

Date: 2009-03-11 05:40 pm (UTC)...which is a bummer, as I recently got a similar letter inquiring about what would have been a $2,000 order =( Foo on these people and their evil false hope-raising ways!

Date: 2009-03-11 07:29 pm (UTC)Also? Only asking for a $700 deposit? And the house is already undervalued for the neighbourhood? Suuuure.
Sigh. Why'd I even bother?

Date: 2009-03-11 07:43 pm (UTC)What was kind of sad is that the $700 figure wouldn't have pinged me. That's in the ballpark for what is described in the market that I live in.
It was the stunted language and *way* too much information that made me go "hmmm".
