Well, sort of. It merely means that instead of working in the store, I work here at home. I have a mountain staring me in the face.

Just out of curiosity, anyone out there have an interest in minioning for me? I can't pay, but I will feed you while you're here, and you will get your very own, custom-made MayFaire Moon corset. Be warned: I'm VERY...er...detail-oriented.

Well, it's pretty simple, really. You show up at weird hours, and spend the next-however-long-you-have suffering through overly affectionate animals, HGTV, and West Wing reruns while I throw you piles of patterns to transfer from sketchbook to pattern paper, then to cut, pin, and compile.

I think the most technical aspect is being able to topstitch a reliable sixteenth of an inch from the edge. But then, I've been doing this a while, so I'm kinda biased.

It almost sounds like you'd benefit from having a good scanner, a copy of Illustrator, and a plotter. Even Photoshop might do it, depending on how scary-accurate the pattern needs to be (and how scary-accurate the sketch is).

Snort! Oh, no-- I like drafting my patterns by hand. It's my favourite part: the pencil in my hand, sweeping my arcs, correcting them, connecting my lines-- it's fun!

Well, except when the cats walk across the sketchbook. Then it's just annoying.

LOL - I hear ya! Sounds like the same reason why when I draw, I still have to do it by hand with an actual pencil instead of a stylus on a tablet. It's just not the same thing.
