I am, most delightfully, here in London. I'm back at the same hotel I booked almost three years ago, now, and the room is lovely. The only problem? I have no idea where Corey and Amy are. It's now almost 2pm, and they should have landed almost four hours ago. I sent them the address of the hotel before we all left, but now I don't know where they are. (I flew into Heathrow, they flew into Gatwick.)

Sigh. I know I'll find them eventually. But this is frustrating. And more reasons to hate Sprint, who assured me my phone would work here.

If anyone knows a way to get a hold of morriganswitch, can you let her know I'm at the hotel, in room 312?

US phones normally don't work abroad, same with out-of-country phones working in the US. Normally you have to put a program/purchase a program to have them work. I'm sure you could straighten it out with the folks in the UK.

This is why I called them to ask. They assured me it would, but the roaming charges would be $1.29 a minute.

my cingular phone worked fine in Ireland and the republic of.
it was just expensive, it also worked int eh various carribean islands. Grr to you sprint. I say when your contract is up you should leave, they seem to give you no end of hassle.

My phone is ATT (was cingular) and it worked in the UK as well. Sprint is the devil, I think. (well, at least to ysobelle They give her so many hassles!)

I have been found. We got fogged out of London, and had to sit on the tarmac in Paris for four hours, before flying the half hour back to Gatwick, then a half hour train ride to London Victoria and a fifteen minute cab ride.

There's something about the system that Sprint/Verizon uses that is not supposed to be compatible in Europe. ATT and the others use the same type of system used there.
