One way or the other, I am so very proud of myself. I listened to his very real concerns, and felt utterly broken. And then I put on my big girl panties, as the Wenches say, and said, "That's fine, and I utterly respect and deeply appreciate your incredible honesty, but here's my point of view." I didn't sit and meekly accept, I had a point and argued it.
We have put the cart before the horse, he and I. We have tied ourselves in emotional knots before we've even been alone together even once. We may not suit. We may decide we make better friends than...? But you have to actually make the bet and throw the dice before you decide if you've won or lost.

So if you need a moment to pout.. take it. Do a hot bath and then the big girls will feel a little bit better.
