I didn't hear from C after the email yesterday; I assume packing was crazy, and he was having issues with his apartment and landlord. Oh, and with his phone. We loves Sprint, yesss, we loves it.

I feel less utterly deflated than I did yesterday, but am still left with this feeling of, "Well, of course this happened. What did you really expect?" As if this is all I ever get: grand expectations, and dashed hopes. In other words, a complete pity party for myself. Why yes, it must be Christmas.

Oh, and did I mention? My family cancelled Christmas this year. Seriously. My sister and her husband can't afford anything, so we're not doing the gift thing this year, though I can get something for my niece and nephew if I want to. And there's the usual brunch at their house. But really? After the utter horror of last year, when the whole day shattered and landed on me, I think this year I'm just going to stay home and give myself the present of finishing some work. Yeah. Once again, the triumph of utter mediocrity blows raspberries at me.

I'll be fine. I'm just tired of being disappointed.

I don't know if I can swing it, but I am supposed to head to Fairfax Friday, then to LI on Sunday to see my dad. Maybe we can figure a meeting place half-way for hugs and gelt?

Oh, yeah. I'm hedging my bets on anything until I head the final answer on whether he can visit or not. As it stands, no, but we haven't actually talked yet.
