I'm also just about to finish Season One of West Wing. You know, the one where Josh...you know. And I will flip out about it, like I do Every. Single. Time.

I swear to G-d, you're, like, the fourth person I know rewatching West Wing right now! Are we just all trying desperately to get our faith back? Are we trying to remind ourselves what it's like to believe in our government?

Hope is a wonderful thing, but G-d, it's so painful.

I think it's more that watching this election has made more of us remember what it was like watching the show and wishing we had a president like Bartlett. I think we're already so full of hope and faith that perhaps a truly gifted man might actually occupy that chair that we can't wait for the actual election and are reminding ourselves of what it felt like to spend those hours with a fictional president.

Never mind that so many of Obama's speeches have sounded like a page from a West Wing script. :) The first time I tripped over an Obama event on TV, I was hooked, and since we still have a week and a half left to know whether this country is capable of doing what is best for ALL the people in it, I am diving into West Wing so I don't chew my nails.

I know. :) And that makes the west wing marathon all the more appropriate. I'm up to season 4 right now. Can I just say Season 3's finale makes me cry every single time? Gotta go. Sam just fell out of bed.
