This is what I was talking about. Chaos and destruction, with just one car and a chain of moronic decisions. Thank G-d no one was killed. Thank G-d none of my neighbours was out there. Thank G-d I wasn't walking the dog just then.
Thanks. I was, at the time, inside trying to listen to Bill Clinton on the Daily Show. That's actually how I was able to tell the officers what time the accident happened-- I noted how far along the show was when I watched it again two hours later. Then they knocked on the door again and I STILL missed it. Augh!
Ahh, yes, this brings back memories. Two days after buying my new car (this was in 1998) I awoke to the sounds of men yelling. As I walked across my apartment, I couldn't help but notice the feeling of impending doom in my chest. When I got to the window, there was my little car, smashed from behind into the fire hydrant. It seems that while a drunken man was driving the wrong way down our one-way street, he managed to hit 4 cars, plough through a fence, hit a house and ended up backwards in someone's front yard. Sigh.
