In the last three months or so, I've done more work on my novel than in the preceding eight years combined.
I've reshuffled the parts I already had, streamlined them together, written new bridges, and entirely new passages. It's starting to feel less like a collection of pieces, and more like an actual novel. I'm also finding, as I constantly forget, that not everything needs to be planned, and as long as you have half a brain and three-quarters an idea where you're going, a large part of a novel will write itself. And go places you never thought of.
I'm really enjoying myself. I'm actually proud of myself, too.
