ysobelleRiccardo Ricco has been ejected form the Tour. After winning not one but two stages. You wanna guess why? Yeah. EPO. Again. This time, however, his team, Saunier Duval, has gone with him.
Fuck you. Fuck you, fuck you, FUCK YOU. How is this better for anyone? You CANNOT get away with it. More and more, any rider who's even suspected of doping will be tainted forever because perception becomes yet more pervasive that "everyone does it." The other Saunier Duval riders who may be completely innocent? Fucked. They're on their way home. The corporate sponsors? It's between five and ten MILLION to sponsor a team. T-Mobile almost ceased to be. Phonak collapsed after Floyd Landis got screwed. Discovery "found other uses for their money." What happens when no company will touch a professional bike team any more? What happens to all the men and women-- to the kids who dream of climbing L'Alpe d'Huez like Lance Armstrong one day?

ETA: Saunier Duval has apparently withdrawn voluntarily in apology. There were audible boos around the team tour bus this morning. I watched the video clip during Versus' coverage, and I actually cried. I'm that angry. I'm just that angry.
