River Song knew the Doctor as he is now, though his eyes looked older to her.
David Tennant has already finished filming the '08 Christmas Special.
The BBC are crafty bastards, and Russell Davies is a fox amongst foxes, but I'm going to go to sleep tonight with those two thoughts in my head. So there.

Date: 2008-06-29 06:38 pm (UTC)The whole regeneration thing has a couple of glitches. For instance, in the Tom Baker episodes, his partner Romana (played by Mary Tamm) chooses both when to regenerate, and her appearance. She models bodies for the Dr like we'd try on dresses.
The Dr, however, seems to be stuck with taking what he can get. He does seem to appear younger each time. William Hartnell was 12 years older than dirt. Patrick Troughton was younger, then we move to the inestimable Jon Pertwee, and so on.
Anyway, I digress. I have 3 episodes to catch up on before next weeks extended-length season closer.

Date: 2008-06-30 03:00 am (UTC)And Sarah Jane didn't recognise him at first. Not at all. She was introduced to him in the teachers' lounge, and had no clue. It was only after she backed away from the Tardis and saw him standing there, staring at her, and he said, "Hello, Sarah Jane," that she realised. Oh, what a moment.
And yes, I've pondered the whole younger Doctors thing. But really, I'm fiiiiiiiiiine with David Tennant. I am. I'm media-savvy enough to know there HAS to be some sex appeal if you want to keep butts on couches. As for the rules and regs on regeneration, I think there's been a shift in the whole cannon concerning the matter. I seem to have read somewhere there's been no further mention of a limit of 13, setting up the possible abandonment of the rule. Or changing it somewhere. There are so very many things that have just shifted over the years. I can't wait to see how this all pans out!
