Someone I know was waxing rhapsodic over a sewing machine place they knew that offered great service and sold used machines. Of course, since I wasn't in the market then, I don't remember the place, or who told me.
Steve's is where a lot of the women in my old smocking guild used to get there machines. Call them. They should be able to tell you what they have on hand, although you might have to wrangle with them to get a price. They always want to convince you to buy twice as much machine as you actually came in for. That's a dealership universal.
Are you interested in an industrial? I've got one here with table and working motor. It has reverse, a bobbin winder, uses a knee press, uses needles you can order (100 for 18.00)cheaply. You just need to come up and slave for a couple of days over the Mayfaire stuff.

I've never heard anything bad about Steve's except that sometimes they're backed up for repairs because they're good.
