I don't like oak. So if you're ever going to surprise me with a home makeover? No oak. Don't like the grain.

So, to review:

NO 70s DESIGN. I hated it then, I still hate it. No orange and blue and brown, no pink and brown, no lime and goldenrod. Ugh. Shudder.

I like orange if it's used in an Asian-inspired kind of theme, but otherwise, not so much.

Art Nouveau is my absolute favourite period for architecture and interior design. Hands down.

Organic. Stone in irregular shapes. Wood. Water. Flowers. Scents. Yes, indoors.

Sigh. I really need to live in Peter Jackson's vision of Rivendell. Or a cottage out of Sense & Sensibility, where I could tie bunches of herbs and flowers to the low rafters before the fireplace.

Yeah. I so need to get out of Eastwick.

I sent you an email regarding a corset last week, did you ever receive it?

Yes, yes! And I opened it on my desktop not ten minutes ago to remind my sorry ass to ANSWER you!

I do almost ALL my corsets as payment plans. A lined, wool jacket to match would probably be somewhere in the $300-$350 neighbourhood. With yummy coordinated buttons to close it in a keyhole in the front, and...ahem. Okay. That's more a spencer. The kind that's just sleeves, really, more in the $200 range. But mmm...now you've put ideas in my brain!

Lol, I'm an enabler that way, just ask Heather ; P

I was thinking either wool or velvet (as in an abreviated version of a scrummy velvet blazer I own), just something to give it a tad more modesty while still displaying the lines and the beauty of it, y'know?

When's the latest you'd need measurements and fabric choice (I'm still waffling between emerald green and tartan!) to get it to me by August 14?

Muhahahahaa! I know, I know. But I'd love to do one. And I wouldn't need measurements til, oh, June? It's usually better to wait, just in case you gain or lose weight like some of us do. Ahem.

Why not green AND tartan?

Yeah, I was looking to at least burn off this holiday weight and maybe a few extra pounds between now and then, but really, who knows what will happen between then and now?

I love the way you think XD

I'm kind of, erm, obsessed with tartan and the color green. Not that that has a damn thing to do with my complexion or hair color. Nope. Not a damn thing.

That's my story and I'm stickin' to it.

Didn't you do a tartan beauty for the Houston vice madame?

Carrie Scott? Why yes, yes I did! And dammit, I STILL don't have any good photos of that....

I'm actually working on a corset in a gorgeous Black Watch English wool. Scrummy! I just have to FINISH it!

Mmm, that does sound scrummy! Rest assured the corset looks lovely on her, I recognized it as your work the first time I met her a couple of years ago.

I'll have you a down payment by the end of the month, can I paypal you, or....?

Squee! PayPal is faaabulous. It's info(at)mayfairemoon.com. Woot!

And it's so weird that people recognise my stuff. I had someone come up to me at PARF this year and say, "I figured this had to be Ground Zero for you-- I saw so many of your corsets here!"

I've been watching [livejournal.com profile] corsetry and [livejournal.com profile] corsetmakers for years now, and I've NEVER seen anything like yours. They're so distinctive and elegant : ) I think the closest I've seen is the occasional piece with decorative front-side lacings, but I greatly prefer your style. If I'm dropping $400 on a corset, I don't want to look like everyone else, dammit ; )

Aw, now, I think the 50s era stuff is kinda fun.

But I'm still gonna give you noogies.

I want to live in the Shire.

Or a cottage in an English village, with an overflowing garden in the front, and a huge elaborate playspace for the kids in the back, complete with comfortable chairs and benches tucked in here and there.

I'd take The Burrows, too. But yeah, generally English cottage style.

Sigh. Oh, man, I'd love that. Bag End? With all that polished wood? Purr....

And oh, don't even get me started on the gardens I want....

As someone who bought a house done in 70's woodgrain, please give me stone and color anyday now! Nice thing is that we are slowly converting the backyard to a cottage garden. Yay!

Whee!

And ANY TIME you need help pulling that damned woodgrain down, I'm SO HERE FOR YOU!

I'm so with you on the deep deep aversion to oak and 70's colors. Reeeeeally not my style.

Have you ever been to Nashville? Have you visited the Frist Gallery? I wanted to lie on the floor and revel in the classic perfect awesome Art Deco. Think you would love it, too.

Got your address, but haven't hit a post office yet. If you're coming down on the 19th/20th I'll hang onto it??
