Jennyfur's Gown
Dec. 20th, 2007 06:56 pmAT LAST!
I went over to
kylecassidy's last night. Not only was the fabulous
jenny_fur there, not only did I finally get to meet
hennepin, not only did we have some really excellent pizza, and not ONLY did I get to see the new kittens, by G-d, but I FINALLY got photos of what remains, to date, my most complicated project. I spent DAYS experimenting with dye for the Alençon lace way back in January of '05, six months before the wedding. I did not one but TWO muslin toiles, when I realised the first one not only wasn't working, but could never be made to work as it was the completely wrong pattern. I literally spent all night tossing and turning, wondering what I'd done wrong to the sleeves, until I realised I'd cut them backwards. I'm STILL finding pearls and sequins in odd corners in the carpet.
I love this gown. Lovelovelove.
