Frustrated.

Came home from Philcon last night utterly exhausted. Watched Torchwood for the first time ever, wound up sobbing for an hour or two. (No, the show was quite good, it's just...long story. Anyway.) Went to bed early after fighting with my Treo. Woke up STILL exhausted, with my Treo STILL giving me shit. I seem to have a problem with the text messages-- one of them is corrupted, and every time I try to delete it, the phone shuts off. I don't know what the fuck to do, and I'm pissed. I can't open it, I can't delete it, and until I can get rid of the fucker, I can't send or receive texts without my phone cycling on and off.

So of course, I can't text Hugh to let him know I regretfully have to bail on Philcon today. The Philcon numbers listed on the website are disconnected. The hotel isn't answering.

I need a general reset.

I"m anxious to hear what it is about Torchwood that set you off, because I have the same reaction to that show sometimes..it really sets off all kinds of triggers, emotionally. What an incredible show.

Sigh.

It was the image of the son in the nursing home, senile, and unable to remember anything. My mother was born in 1937, the year given as his year of birth. My Dad was born in 1930. "Alan" was my Mom's age, and younger than my Dad, but he was already gone. I have a lot of issues with the thought of losing my parents, and this pretty much hit all of them.

And I was, I realise now, very, very tired. Possibly even a bit sick.

Is your Treo a Palm device or a WinCE device? If it's Palm, you can blow away the bad text message by deleting the file storing it...

As for your phone, what type of Treo? But more specifically, have you tried backing it up to your computer and then wiping it and restoring it from backup? That might clear it out. And Palms have all sorts of resets, too—soft, hard, and total? Make sure you try most of those.
