Whenever something huge and tragic happens I actually stop watching the news. Because it tends to filter in to a couple of groups. There's the vultures who love that it happened by cover it up by redoubling their efforts to get more info....the conspiracy theorists who go crazy....and the people who are just covering the story and are usually in shock themselves while talking to the camera. Seeing any of these turns me off. In times of crisis the country actually seems to act like a single organism, like there's a group mind out there that buzzes and pulses. It can't see anything clearly because it is so engrossed in the moment it can't look outside it. I wait...a week, a month, sometimes a year before I'll revisit the topic just so this energy's had a time to dissipate and there's a clearer picture. But...that's just me. And the world looks weird over here. :)

Don't turn on your TV, btw.
