It's "free rein," not "free reign."

As in, keeping a horse on a free, or unrestricted, rein. If you reign over someone or something, you're probably pretty free already to do as you wish.

Oh, Christ, don't even get me started on the Wench board. There are some women-- and men, for that matter-- whose posts are just torture to read. But be glad you missed the screaming match that ensued when a few of us DARED to ask that people pay attention to such highbrow things as, say, punctuation. You'd think we were asking people to slay their firstborn. Or set fire to their Pendragons.
