OhioSMART now says they miscalculated, and airfare to Cleveland is more than they can afford-- it's about $380, and they like to stay around $200. They asked if I had any ideas, but my transporter's in the shop, so...gah.

So the Lincoln MKS commercial with the woman saying, "I caught three (perfect waves)" as her daughters get out of the car to surf with her? What the hell? Her daughters are perfect waves? That's a new one. And she's not bothered that allll these guys are gawking, and her littlest kid's about six? Creepy. And how is it she has time to get out, check out the surf, open the back, get out her wetsuit, and get into it all before her kids get out? They're at the BEACH. Those kids would have EXPLODED out of the car-- probably before Mom came to a full stop.

And I finally saw the "Don't You Want Me" cookie commercial. I weep.

Cleveland is a very very easy drive, though. Rent a car, for the weekend will cost something like $70, and drive! I used to do it every weekend or so.

Psh. I am SO not driving to Cleveland for this. I HATE the drive. Besides which, I'm not getting paid for this, and I can't really afford the time. I mean, I want the exposure, and it's not about the money, but still.

I find that XKS commercial SO creepy! Especially those guys gawking unabashedly at the underaged girls! WTF? "Lets treat young girls like objects now so that they will be used to it when they're older?" I want to knife the copy writer for that commercial.

I think it's time to stop watching regular TV and park on BBC and IFC and begin to watch movies like Brotherhood of the Wolf in the original French. That way you won't have to put up with this stuff. Remember the Simpson's episode where all those advertising icons keeled over because nobody paid attention to them? It's not THAT far off.

Seeing the cookie commercial made me go out and download that song, btw. Yeeeah...kinda embarassed to admit that.

the train shouldn't be too bad.. philadelphia -> pittsburgh -> cleveland and you can watch the scenery, read, do work, sleep, etc. on the train. depending upon when you are travelling, it would probably be quite affordable (without even looking at sales, promo deals,etc.)

There are other routes to get you out there, but that seems to be the most direct one.

Train from Harrisburg>Philly>Boston was only $194 round trip. They should be able to foot the bill for a train to Cleveland. I concur, it's a LOT of fun, there's more room to spread out, the scenery is better and you're less likely to come down with the cold of the person 30 rows behind you. Nevermind the whole romance of going somewhere on a train!

Seriously, you all need to look into finding a better price! Maybe that is the cost plus your room. but flying in shouldnt be that much. I paid less than that for roundtrip to michigan over a weekend with a plane change. AND I know I only spent 550 to get to Belize and back.
