I thought this BEGAN in January. No, it ENDS this month-- next week. I cannot miss this exhibit. It's $15, open from 10am to 5pm and is open through Sunday. Who'd like to come with me?
Oh, and just to make it more irresisible, the "Ever After" gown is one of the costumes.

Date: 2007-01-02 09:34 pm (UTC)The highlight for me would be the Maharajah's costume from Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom. (Of course...) Now, if they had any of the Jones girls' costumes, then I might just consider a flight out! *chuckle*
Such as...

Date: 2007-01-02 09:47 pm (UTC)Incidentally, you know why Willie's Temple of Doom dress is backless? (Interesting little anecdote, here...) The first scene they filmed with that dress was actually the scene in the jungle where it's hanging over a branch by the campfire. The elephant actually started to EAT the dress, which was made from very, very vintage sequined material, and they didn't have any more of it. So, the dress was re-styled to be backless. (At least it was the back...) I'd say it worked out rather well--it's a HELL of a sexy dress, and it looks like it was designed that way in the first place!
***The icon for this comment is me in my Bantu Wind nightgown replica, from Raiders; I also have a replica of Marion's white evening gown, on the left, but I'm very sorry to say that that picture was taken several years ago, and neither fit me anymore. :( ***

Date: 2007-01-03 02:10 am (UTC)Here's the thing. I'm actually not terribly thrilled that they're making a fourth. I feel they should just leave it at a trilogy. (Good things often come in trilogies.) Last Crusade was called such for a double-reason. It was not only the last crusade for the Holy Grail, but Indy's "last crusade" as well. It ends with the four of them riding off into the sunset. Classic. What better way to leave it?
Many will agree that Harrison Ford is simply too old to don the fedora again. I do know, however, that Lucas & Spielberg wouldn't do this if they didn't have a REALLY good script. (This had been in the works for close to a decade.) I just hope to hell that Calista Flockhart (*gag*) is nowhere to be found in it. (Of course, she might star as the whip.) It's a pretty sure bet that Willie Scott will make at least a cameo appearance, as Kate Capshaw is Spielberg's wife. I'd hope that we'll see Karen Allen again, though I pray it's not for Marion to come back and tell Indy that she had his love-child or some crap like that...Elsa, we know, will not show up again, as she fell into the chasm in the Grail temple. Might be kind of cool if Short Round, all grown-up, was worked into some part of the story. And it would be sweet to get John-Rhys Davies back on board. Alas, Denholm Elliot has since departed this world, so no Marcus Brody.
Anyhow, I could go on and on...and on, but I won't subject you further. ;) I may not like the idea, but as a HUGE Jones fan, you can bet that I won't miss it--hell, I may even end up liking it, eh?

Date: 2007-01-02 11:11 pm (UTC)Yes, from down here (Philly) up to anywhere in PA. I have a friend in Wilkes-Barre that I met on a movie set actually that would be interested in this sort of thing.
Costumes!
