I've started looking at potential dates for my next London trip. I have no idea what's going to happen this time around, and I can't wait to see what The Globe has on offer next season. I seriously have to push the silks I bought there, howe'er, or it'll be hard to justify going back. I'd love, though, to be able to zip through the Chunnel and spend a day in Paris.

My dear friend Todd called tonight. He's going through a rough time in Atlanta, and I invited him up here to be my date to the Funky Formal. I think he's accepted. We also talked about languages-- he has, at one or another point in his life, been fluent in Italian, French, and Arabic. Latin. Middle English, too, as well as the more modern variety. I told him of my sad experience with my aborted French in Paris, and how I wandered the City of Light in circles, looking for St. Chapelle in the rain. Or in the dry. I would have taken it any way I found it, except I couldn't FIND the damned place. And it's not like you can just take one of the world's most famous chapels and tuck it in someone's scooter basket. No, I just didn't know how to ask, and didn't have enough brains or fortitude to whip out a map. Sigh. I did get a great shot of some fish in a tank on the Champs Elysee, through which I framed the famous boulevard. The developers, however, must've thought it a joke, and never printed it. And now, of course, I can't find the negatives.

We also got into a discussion of this odd Korean TV miniseries I keep stumbling across, and I bitched about the role of women therein until he finally stopped me and asked what my point was. By then, I'd completely forgotten. Except that if I came in late from a date, and my pseudo-husband whined at me that he hadn't eaten dinner and demanded noodles, I'd tell him exactly where and how to handle said comestibles.

I saw a beautiful apartment today, all the way out in Downingtown. It's made me consider again what's important to me, and why.

In the end, it all comes down to one thing, I think:

The world's so big. Where am I going next?

I posted the applications to Hoggetowne, Sarasota, and Cloisters yesterday. Maybe Florida is back in your future.

The Korean show -- is it on in the morning?

No, "Full House." It's on at night. Who knew Korea had shoujo, too?

There's Korean dramas elsewhere besides WYBE? Whee!

The reason I was asking is because on the drama that's rerunning on YBE in the mornings, "My Precious Family" has a dad who's shtick is to come home, say 'I'm hungry' and wait to be fed. Initially, his traditional stay at home wife (who early on Momma-Boyed her newly married son) would hop to it. As the show has progressed, she's gone through some major character growth where she's not quite as traditional as before and isn't as inclined to jump through hubby's hoops. So now, when he comes home and says "I'm hungry", she's just as likely to tell him to take them out to dinner, or order noodles from take-away....or serve the dinner she's already prepared. Fortunately, the husband's a good soul, so he's more amused than anything else.

And yeah, Korea has its own huge anime and manga market, including shoujo and shojo...and yaoi, too. :)

AZN-- the Asian American network. I have it on 108 down here. MUCH fun.

And what's the difference between shojo and shoujo?
