Hm. And hm again.
Mar. 31st, 2004 01:52 amI have come to the conclusion that I know too many fascinating and attractive men.
I'm not sure if this is a problem or not, actually.
I also have a big design and construction project in front of me now, and I'm rather eager to start it. Silk velvet, my G-d. Some people get off on fast cars or kick-ass computers, but me, no. It's silk chiffon and velvet. I spent hours last night on a costume resource site, poring over obsessive photos of necklines and seams and armsceyes and pattern roughs and godets. Thank G-d there are people out there worse than I am. No, not worse-- just more willing to get out there and take dozens of photos at a costume exhibition, or hunt out movie and publicity stills, then post them and dissect them.
Work is...well, I enjoy it, but I'm relying on it less. I need to get a website in order-- mine is nice, but it's not bringing me business. I need to hook up with Jay and get my sewing house in order. SOON. My rent ain't paying itself. I wouldn't mind the store staying this tenuous and flexible if I were making more money. I 'm a bit tired of told how fabulous I am, and then being told there are no more hours to give me. Were I making more of the potential inherent in the corsets I love so, I wouldn't be so...tense.
I hear the ocean at the base of my skull and in my ribs again. Things are turning, Spring is coming.

"What's in this truck?"
"20 tons of black velvet."
"Does it have a a street value?"
and of course;

Silk velvet has got to be one of THE most sensuous fabrics to work with on the planet.
