Well, to an extent, that's true. But the conflict has been solely with the Jews on the land. Or, rather, the Jews controlling the land, as they'd already lived there in some amounts for thousands of years. Again, no one seems to have a problem with the half of Palestine that became Jordan.

Israel does what it has to to survive. Is it overkill, horrible pun not intended? I don't know. I just don't know what else they could do. Giving up land hasn't worked. Peace treaties haven't worked. What's left?
