So he may have said the 10th, he may have said the 8th. I'll have to wait til the tickets arrive to make sure.
But if he DID say the 10th for "Hamlet" and the 15th for "Dream." I'm seeing the former on closing night-- which is, in my experience, when all the fun people come out. Closing night of "Dream" in '90 is when I almost bowled over WIlliam Hurt. Closing night of "Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner" (which, thank G-d, only
peacockharpy will remember) brought most of Duran Duran and their spouses. There were a few other shows I saw where I didn't even catch who it was having their photos snapped. But then, I'm clueless that way.
And for "Dream"? I'm going on opening night, if I heard aright. I'm usually slightly ambivalent about opening nights-- lots of energy, but the cast sometimes hasn't settled in yet. Still, they'll have been playing in repertory in Stratford for months by then, so it's not quite the same thing.
It doesn't matter. I'm so excited, it just doesn't matter. Now, of course, I have to worry about how to pay for it all. Thank G-d I have a few months to save up.
