Exhausted.
Mar. 27th, 2006 12:16 pmSaturday's meeting was productive, I think. I floated the Heart Ball idea, and that seemed to go over well. I think, also, we started thinking about fundraisers to raise money for our fundraiser, as we don't have capital to invest, and we have big dreams. Nothing huge-- not for our first year/first event-- but something. Betty has some great leads on entertainment, but it won't come free.
Lars also had some good advice for us, and he definitely said we have to have some manner of Team-Wench-like offshoot, as a charity organisation can't come back to the Guild. We need to look into creating a 501c3. Rhoda, you were missed. What happened?
Best surprise of the afternoon was bringing out the slik skirt for Emily, and having her put it and her old corset on in front of everyone. My G-d, she looked fabulous. And the train is ENORMOUS. Just gorgeous. It was great to have everyone in my apartment, but I think the next place to which I move may have to be larger.
The shower was lovely. Really, truly lovely. I'm sort of mad at the tea shop, but Helen did a great, great job. The drive SUCKED, but I just need better CDs. And better cell phone reception. I'm totally going to have to bust ass on the dress, though, if I want to make it to the luncheon next week. I'm whimpering at the thought. I'd like to have everyone here for the hopefully-almost-final fitting on Saturday, and then do Fez that night. We'll see.
The grant idea is growing. What if, perhaps, I got as much grant money as I could, and moved out of the city to somewhere cheaper. Just for a year. If, at the end of the year, I'm not where I need to be, I can take a part-time job or, if need be, a full-time job. But just enough to live, afford insurance, and work on MayFaire Moon. Being closer to faire wouldn't suck, either.
I need some help, Universe. And not the burning-the-ground-behind-me kind, either.
