There are roses in my future. I can almost smell them.

But where to go to buy them? Nice little rose bushes I can put in great big pots to put in front of my booth, with my lavender and maybe some patchouli. Yum!

My fingers are itching to get thorn-stuck. What strange horticultural madness is this?

Gives totally new meaning to the phrase "By the pricking of my thumbs", doesn't it? Hee hee. You should come visit the Local 9 3/4, and stop by my house. There's a rosebush in my backyard that the landlord is talking about pulling.

I have no idea what kind. The flowers are small and are a sort of soft off-white with ruffly petals.

The posts aren't showing up because I haven't made any recently! The last one I posted was May 10th. Must catch up soon, I s'pose.

Heh. Indeed!

And do the roses have a scent?

by booth I assume you mean when you vend?

I was able to purchase miniature rosebushes at the supermarket florist.. I would assume some florists and large garden or home centers.

Yes, I know. But I'm looking for specific roses: heavily-scented hybrid teas, and in particular colours, though I'm not sure which yet.

If I go to Lancaster this weekend, I'll hit some of the nurseries out there.

Rosa canina would be period. But good luck finding real dog roses.

Hey, you could make your own rosary from the petals when they die!

I know, but honestly? I'm a slut for hybrid teas. If I ever build a real booth, I shall have climbers, as well.

I LOVE making rose beads! I perfected my technique while working at a wholesale florist. They cleaned out the coolers every weekend, so I took home 10 dozen roses every friday and made beads over the weekend.

Ooo! I don't know if I'll be back by then, but if I am, I'll be there for THAT! Miss your cooking? Never!

I believe they call it Spring Feva buncher. :) Make sure you get half Hidcote and Half munstead lavender, so that you'll have a lot of lavendar, since one is perennial and one is annual. The Annual will mature faster and give you more color faster, and next year, the Perennial Lav will double in size, so make up for lack of the Annuals. :) Patchouli plants can be a pain to find, but it's easier than trying to germinate the seeds. :)
