So. What towns are there with inexpensive rent between here and Faire? Something on a train line, so I can get to work here relatively painlessly, but where I can get a nice place to live for about $700?

I'm open to all suggestions, but you'll have to be specific, cos once I'm out of Philly, I tend to go, "Huh? Where's that?"

Try the Plymouth Meeting, Conshohocken, Norristown, Lafayette Hill area... they are all minutes from the turnpike, 76 and on major train line stops. Its about an hour and change depending on traffic to the PA RenFaire from where we live.

You aren't allowed to move to Pitt, Hon. *smirks* So just forget that last response. HAHAHAHAHA *hides*

Seriously though...come to Conshy. There are train stations here. The rent for a house may not be all that bad. It'd give Clue a yard. heehee Course I dont think you can get a place for $700. Course you may in Norristown area. All are close to train stations to get into Philly.

You can't leave me now! hehee

I've seen apartments and whatnot in that price range here in Lansdale. And it's on the R5 trainline.

And although not anywhere as big as the Philly store, we do have JoMar right in town.

And there's me...and the hot tub.... :)

In your quest to find an apt, if you find a house for $180 or less, tell me about it!

This is TOTALLY OT - but did you ever get any sort of resolution on your boots?

The reason I ask - I've been plotting and planning to purchase a pair of their new Catskill-esque boots at GARF this year, but in looking up their website it is no longer there - and they're not listed in the "vendor links" page at GARF. I'm hoping that they didn't go out of business....

Funny you should say that....

I got a call yesterday from Arik in Florida. He says they're done, and they didn't cost as much as Simon thought they would. So all I need is a money order, and they'll send them to me. So I should have them soon. I'll let you know once they're here what they look like.

Though why they can't take a credit card over the phone is beyond me. Gah.

Simon is apparently closing BARF at the moment, then he's off to GARF in a bit. So no, they're not out of business. Yay!

Well, yay on all counts! :)

Weird re: the credit card, though. Ah well - as long as the boots are safe and completed and almost on their way. ;)
