Anyone know a nice, laid-back, fun place to work that's hiring for decent salaries? Somewhere a liberal gothy chick won't feel like a freak, but will still be able to pay her rent and see her doctor?

I feel you chica. I've been here nearly a year and they're letting people who came in AFTER me go on special projects while I'm still grinding away doing my time on the phones.

It's making me really, really angry. *sigh* But I can't argue with the pay...so I stay.

How about Europe...? A pink-buzz-cutted friend just returned from France where she was a personal assistant/au pair, and got paid handsomely - in euros! Also, my friend Jessica worked in München. Southern Germany is quite mellow - she had a mohawk when she got back, although I don't know if she had it while actually working for CERN.

Perhaps more in line with your own leanings, though, London is famously tolerant, and you'd be paid in pounds! My ex, Jenny, worked (although one could hardly call it that) in Britain for two years, and lived well and traveled frequently.

Well, I've got the fun, nice, & decent salaries, the liberal gothy chick, the generally 5 minutes late thing, but they have a nose-ring thing and it's definitely not laid back this time of year...

But it's beautiful here - always - even when it rains 'cause we've got rainbows :-)
