Tick tock.
Jan. 27th, 2006 08:44 amThe place is still a mess, but much better than it was. As long as my vacuum cleaner doesn't actually die like it seems to be threatening, I may at last have a clean...ish...floor this evening. Clue had conniptions with my running in and out last night, bringing things in from the car and taking out nearly half a dumpster of trash. I bought some great faux leather file boxes, and file folders. At some point in the next few weeks, I'm going to go through all the papers I put in my old file and set them up nicely in the new. I've neatly obviated the need for an actual filing cabinet. I'm happy. I'm also oh, so looking forward to truly finishing my apartment. I may keep the drafting table for now-- now that it's out of the unusable corner and somewhere I can use it to actually, you know, draft.
Got up early. Stripped the bed and did laundry. Put away some clothing. Made it to work...er...pretty much on time. Of course, I had to run up the street, and now I can't stop coughing. But on the way in, sitting in my car in traffic, I realised I'm enjoying this roil of expectancy and nerves. I don't often get to be excited about something positive, alas.
Tick, tock.
ETA: My manager-- whom I actually adore-- just sent me an email to congratulate me for getting in on time. No, it's not as obnoxious as it sounds, and it honestly made me smile.
