So a week or two ago, I was trying to explain to Neil why I called this guy I dated ages ago the "Axe Murderer" simply because he was somewhat unstable and from Fall River, MA.

Did you know there are crime scene photos? I didn't. I sort of still wish I didn't. That fact that they're grainy and hard to decipher just makes them that much creepier.

So I am a sick and twisted individual.. I find things like this facinating. Sick.. yes.. but still facinating. I have always had a thing for gore.. Not, in that way, but from the facination points of 1. That is what our body looks like on the inside, and 2. What makes a person do things like that.

I don't know if that's it or what, but I can't not look. Christiane's contribution was probably the goriest yet (thanks, hon!), but yeah, muted because of the technology. I took out a book on "Practical Handgun Ballistics" when I was in college, and oh, my G-d, the photos in that one were so freakin' gory.

I guess they just signify so much pain, and pain frightens me. I'm scared that'll happen to me somehow. I don't know. Maybe you're right-- why DO people do things like that?

I don't know why they do it, however I am also fascinated by the WOW factor. Such as that little thing did that??? OMG!
When I go shooting, I feel what it is like.. It is scary, but very powerful. I want to know what my gun is going to do should I have to use it. I am confident with it, and comfortable with it, yet I respect it immensely.

Ya. I'm the same way. The idea of internal violence in the human body just fascinates and repels me.

I just keep thinking there must be more. But then, I'm not actually sure I've ever seen a dead body.

I took a semester of Forensic Psychology. We did papers on killers, I was so incredibly hooked. I could do that for a living.
