Date: 2004-01-29 02:58 am (UTC)Setting the picture size to something smaller than the original doesn't actually make the Jpeg file any smaller. The whole huge thing still has to be downloaded. It's merely displayed smaller. And if you're going to download a picture that big, you may as well display it full size....
The solution is to make real thumbnail versions of the pictures in the size you intend to display them on your gallery page, and link them to the full size images.
