Y'see, the point is...no, never mind.
Oct. 24th, 2005 11:29 amWe're all so tired. Everyone I know. It's the end of twelve weeks of faire, and sleep is like the prize just over the line we can all see.
It was another good weekend, but being this tired just makes me crazy. The lovely Audrey came to see us-- well, Corvus Corax, really-- and that was spiffy, but I realised I never got to say goodbye. Where ARE YOUUU? I never measured you, either!
After much batting of eyelashes, I got Lars to express me a Privateer's packet for Ardor in five days. With Ferret's less-than-subtle aid, I got the staggeringly tall German gothboi into my tent and presented him with his pin, certificate, and Quarter/No Quarter cards. He was utterly jazzed about it, and let me pin his new guild pin to his lapel. Next day, when I bounced down to the show halfway through the set, he grinned at me, tossed back his dreads, and stuck out his chest to show me his pin. Go, Wenches' Pride! And then they did "Filii Neidhardi," so honestly, what more do I need?
Except that I discovered someone with whom I've been flirting, and who I thought had intent, has, instead, a girlfriend. That annoys me greatly, but somehow doesn't surprise me.
And on the drive home after a really, really lovely dinner at the Cat's Meow, I chatted with Lars until I got to my door, where I found myself saying, "Lars? Laaars? ...Wake up and go home, hon. Laaaaaaars...."
I think we're all ready for November.

Date: 2005-10-24 05:55 pm (UTC)I know, I know, last weekend is probably going to be insane, but apparently that's when we're coming. Presuming it doesn't rain again. *sigh*
And by me, I think I mean Ben and I. And Keith. And a couple of Keith's friends whom I haven't met.
School is kicking Beth's butt, so I don't think Rick and she will be joining us. I'd try to get Dan to come with, but he told me last night he's pointedly NOT making plans for next weekend.
