So I went in to talk to the COO here, with whom I've always gotten along well. She said to me months ago that she knew they "weren't fully utilising (my) skill set." I asked today if anything's ever going to happen, anywhere for me to go, etc. While we talked of a possible upcoming opening, she said to me, "Look, I understand if this just isn't your thing. You gave it a good try."

Gah. Now what?

Uhhh excuse me???? I don't know much about your work situation, but that sounded like a "You should leave." statement. Or am I totally incorrect in this assumption?
