General organising help.

I have corsets I owe to people. (Yes, Cindy, you, too.) I'm having trouble working on them. Not just because of time-- I'm swamped, yes-- but because my space is so cluttered I can't work.

Does anyone out there have experience in residential organising? It's officially beyond me, and I need help. Bonus points if you're willing to barter for a corset.

I'm working on it. But one of the things that precipitated this is I realised I HAD the list of new measurements, and now I can't FIND it.

Dude, if I lived in your area, I'd be so there. I'm awful good at organizing sewing areas. ;)

My best advice - lots of storage space, and everything has a home/place. I know it sounds simplistic, but it really does work.

(PS -- No, I don't organize ~myself~ well -- This is because I organize OTHER people for a living. LOL)

I'm a secretary for a living for legislative types who can't keep themselves straight if you hand them a ruler or a T-square. :)

It would be good if you're present, yes -- I will need you around to explain how you work, and so you are sure the way we set things up works for you. It would be a collaborative thing.

Ikea be thy friend, chica...Everything is made to organize stuff in a small space, I love their stuff!

or, you can go to WalMart and get something cheaper and made out of Gladware, but it'll accomplish the same thing. I would say check an Ikea catalog for ideas first, though!

Ya know... I have to come up to pick up my corset... and G_d knows trading some time helping you organize for some of what I owe you would be a welcome trade on my end... so we might be able to do this... (Unless you're counting on the $, which is also fine; I don't want to leave you hanging in that respect... :)

I could come up Friday (Sept. 16?) chatter with you about what and where, then leave me with a key and you won't know the place when you get home. ;) (But you WILL be able to find things!) (This does not, I'm sorry, include dog-sitting.... ;)

I'll put some of what I would have spent on the corset toward organizational stuff from a local store. Ikea or Target or some such. Oo... this could actually be fun... (don't remind me I should be doing this to my OWN house...hehe)
