The wake's tonight. I have to work all day, and I'm not sure how I'm going to manage it tonight. Part of me dreads it-- again-- but a large part of me wants to go. I did say I wanted to get out more.
There must be better ways of getting out more, though.
Wakes are usually not as intense as funerals. People tend to remember the neat things about the person, reminisce a lot, and get totally wasted. It's pretty cathartic without (usually) being as exhausting.
