Er...just to set the record straight....

ysobelleI'm kinda baffled I need to do this, but here goes.
No one helped me with the Funky. No one. Just me and the fabulous catering department at the Eden, who all know me by now. My staff at my shop helps me sell tickets-- they rock my socks. They're awesome. But no one else. I didn't ask, and no one offered. It's all good.
I don't make money off the Funky, but I can sure lose money. Whatever we take in at the door goes towards the deposit for next year-- I get up early Monday morning, check out, go to catering, and plonk down whatever we have. Two years ago, we had almost 400 people, which resulted in a great deposit for the following year. That next year, we had far fewer than I'd budgeted for, and I took a bath. I also had very little to put down for this year, and most of it was my own money. There's no "usual" amount. It changes every year. Some years we're great, some years, I lose money. If we have a shortfall, it's my responsibility, and it comes out of whatever I've made at my shop. My money. No one else's. The only "profit" I make from the party is my hotel room.
I know all this going in. I'm not bitching or whining. I love the Funky-- I've gone to a Funky Formal for every Faire I've ever done, and I've been involved in this life for, oh, twenty years, now? The GARF Funky is awesome-- or it was when I did that show! Haven't been there in, alas, too long. Anyway. I do this cos I like to give something back to the show where I have so many friends. I do it cos I like being able to hang out with people I usually only see as I'm burning rubber up the road-- or, this year, people I didn't get to see at all. I do it cos it's wickedly fun to watch everyone get drunk and do things I'm gonna be able to blackmail 'em about for yyyeeeears.
So if someone says they helped me this year, they didn't. If someone says I should have money left over, I don't. If someone says anything to you about what I did this year, they're probably bullshitting you. Anyone has any questions or has heard any rumours, hey, I'm right here. Come ask me.
