A pleasant evening, all told. Last night, to be with my ailing mate, I gave Liesel's party a miss, which I regret, though I still feel I did what was right at the time. Last night, he stayed awake long enough to watch "The Nightmare Before Christmas" with me, which was enjoyable. I constantly forget how much that movie disturbs me, much as I adore it. Perhaps that's why I adore it? And I must admit, I never quite understand Jack's probem. He seems fully cognizant of why his version of Christmas is different, and sighs that no one else in Halloweentown gets it (as when he's trying to describe a present in the Town Meeting). Yet come Christmas Eve, he seems suddenly to be no more aware than any of the rest of the Creepy Company.

At any rate, apparently, The Blond felt much better this morning. We spent a rather scattered day attempting to get to Leah's, by which time it was already after 4. Rhoda and Jeff, Phil and Alanna, and Leah-- of course-- were already there in their paint-splattered glory. The new house is lovely, and I'm over the moon for Leah. She deserves it. And she finally has her jacuzzi.

Interesting things I discovered tonight:

I can still get my foot up on the barre-- even when it's ridiculously high.

I can still do first, second, third, and fourth position, but fifth...well, my calves are pretty big. Muscular, and not fat (there, at least) but ugh.

The Blond can get his ankles behind his head. Hm. Hmm.

So can Rhoda. Blink.

Jeff thinks it's yummy I can bend almost all the way backwards. Personally, I'm not getting the sexual position this would enhance, but hey, I'm sure I'll figure out a use for it some day.

I'm pretty good with a paint roller, once I shut up and get working.

No, I don't own any "grungy" clothes.

I should GET "grungy" clothes.

I have some really neat people in my life.



See? I CAN have an upbeat, happy LJ entry! I didn't even mention that I wish The Blond were here, or that my back aches, or that I'm determined not to sucumb to this cold, or that I desperately need a job, or...well, anything! Right? Oh. Er...sorry.

My back aches too. So do my arms from all the painting.

I guess I learned not to do back bends without warming up first.
