One annoying thing about the iPhone.
Mar. 4th, 2009 11:18 amI can't easily get photos any more. In order to get anything dubbed a "multimedia message," I have to go to a website and enter a passphrase and ID, which changes for each message, is a random garble of numbers and letters, and can't be copied and pasted cos the iPhone famously has no copy and paste function.
So if there's something you need to send me, please still do-- but send it to my email address. I can open it that way with no problems.
C'est bon?

Date: 2009-03-04 04:25 pm (UTC)OTOH, Amazon just released a Kindle reader for the iPhone. I already downloaded it and grabbed a sample of Neil Gaiman and Dave McKean's The Graveyard Book as a test. Small pages, but nice. And usable anywhere you have a data connection, just like the "real" Kindle.

Date: 2009-03-05 04:48 am (UTC)I am as annoyed as can be by the fact that I can't get picture messages, too. I haven't decided if it's worth (possibly) voiding an applecare plan to be able to get them.

Date: 2009-03-05 05:50 pm (UTC)So if someone asks me if I got their message, I look it up, and say "What message?" "Oh, it was a picture!" "OK, the iphone has MMS FAIL, send it to my email" If they do, problem solved. If they don't, it probably wasn't worth my time anyway. :)
