My assistant has completely disappeared with four or five corsets she was supposed to mail. My customers are now emailing me to say they never got their corsets. My assistant has not answered her phone, her email, her Facebook-- nothing. I don't know what happened to her. I would be worried something happened to her-- and I am-- except that she's done somewhat similar flake-out things before. Just never to this extent.

Don't think I'm not seriously considering it. As in, what police would I call, could they find her just by her phone number as I don't have the address, is the boyfriend's last name unique enough to track him.... I just have to figure out how to get this all handled AND get work ready for WWRF.

Considering it? Hell just do it. Worse case scenario is they find her and she flaked and just didn't feel like answering the phone/etc. At which point you can collect the corsets and drop the charges.

Either way, fire her ass when they do catch up with her. But let them recover the property.

It will take you a few hours, at most, to file the report, and then they'll do the rest of it. But don't just consider it. Nail her ass. You're far too nice most days.

I COMPLETELY AGREE!!!
there is no way you can recoup 2K in this economy.
File charges... they CAN find her... and oh yes they will. they can access her name and family and shit from MySpace alone....
and on top of that...
You can offically tell your costumers their corsets were stolen and had to be recovered/replaced... and you have a police report to back it up so you dont look like YOU flaked and your business tanks.

Hate to say it, but I agree with the folks who are suggesting involving the police. Two-thousand bucks + labor in this economy isn't something to just let slide. Plus, finding them would be so much easier than starting from scratch.

The police have a lot more resources at their disposal than you do.
