I was given a number, a room, and a judge by 9.30. I continued to sit in the jury room until about a quarter to noon. They then called us to line up, and took us out into the main foyer-- where we were told our panel had been cancelled, and we were dismissed. Woot! I'd had a feeling it would play out that way. I've heard many civil cases get to this point, then someone flinches, and they settle. I'm fine with it. Really.

I am now spending my whole nine dollars here at the Down Home Diner in Reading Terminal. I was about to run home, but seriously, I have to pay for all-day parking anyhow, so why not just hang out, enjoy a day downtown, and get some really good food shopping done before I go home and try to tackle another corset?

It could have been worse. The burger was tasty.

It's the portrait that you normally see, only he's got his arms crossed, and it says, "Prose before hos"
