Oct. 13th, 2004 09:17 pmWell, they're starting early.
"Good evening. How are you? Nice to see you. WHAM!" Go John.
At this point, though, I'm sort of thinking I've heard much of this before.
Bush is sounding like a whiner, really. And if I hear that fucking, "You voted against X 91 times!" I'm gonna scream. Er...again. There are dozens of reasons to vote against a bill if it's in a form you don't like. When it comes to a floor vote in a form you CAN support, do you vote for it then? THAT'S what it's important.
Ahhh...finally, Kerry's addressing the issue.
And smooth bit about the Pell grants.

The one thing I don't agree wth Kerry about: gay marriage.
But I LOVE the way he thinks abortion isn't an issue he can legislate, despite his strong personal feelings. I do like this guy. I'm actually digging him on a personal level-- not that I'm gonna go hunting for his phone number and send him Gerber daisies, but that I think he could be a President whom I could respect and kinda dig.
"The best way to keep people safe from crimes with guns is to prosecute people who commit crimes with guns."
Er…what about people who’ve never committed a crime before? Or, more to the point, those who’ve never been caught? It’s okay for them to get an AK-47? As someone on West Wing said, isn’t the fact that you WANT a gun like that an indication that you’re kinda crazy to begin with?
*********
"I don’t want to impose my religion on anyone else."
"I believe G-d wants people to be free! That’s why I’m doing this!"
Am I the only person thinking, "Erf?"
*********
George either loves Ted Kennedy or hates him, but I wish he’d just get over it and call him, already. Send him flowers or something.
*********
Interesting debate from a woman’s point of view, too. Roe v. Wade, and equal pay for women, and affirmative action. Mm.
LOVE the joke about Teresa. Snerk.
Also, a nice way to end the debate-- at the end of it all, they're both still guys who're smart enough to acknowledge the women in their lives run the show. I think this confirms Teresa is a Wench.

that's a really safe position to take. when someone asks "what about all those iraqi non-combattent women and children bombed in church at weddings in the streets?" he can just say "G-d wanted them dead!" "Mr. President, why is the economy so farked up?" "G-d wants it that way!" i like this -- it's very useful.

Date: 2004-10-16 01:57 am (UTC)Gee, I have six. You think I should be locked up or something? Yeah, let's do something about innocent people who haven't done anything wrong. There's a term in the legal system for people who have never committed a crime before. It's "Innocent." Another one is "Law Abiding."
I figured I'd stay away until after the election because of the last discussion we got heated over (Even though I kept thinking about it when I found out things like how 70% of the aid going into the Sudan comes from us, and how we're leading the effort in the UN to TRY to get some relief, but they're fighting us), but for some reason I checked in today, and this is what I see. You've gotten SO wrapped up in this hero worship thing that I don't know you any more.
As for the Wife Question, all Kerry had to say about Theresa is he married up, and then he talked about his Mom instead. It was pretty clear from the answers who loves his wife more. (And let's not bring up what Kerry did to his first wife.)

Date: 2004-10-16 03:14 am (UTC)Don't comment on my politics. You're right. You don't know me. You and I haven't talked in a very long time, you have no idea where I'm coming from, and all you know is what you extrapolate from what you read here. So make your life easier. Don't read any more. Your comments obviously come out of whatever it is you want to believe of me, and whatever image of me you've created, and they do nothing but piss me off. I'm not going to argue my beliefs with you, and I don't really care any more what you believe; you've pissed me off too many times over the past few years. Enough is enough. Don't reply to this. Don't read this any more. Just give it up and move on.
