Two hours after the debate is over, and CBS 3's poll says 88.99% of the debate viewers-- 5,343 of them-- think Edwards won, while only 11.01% put the laurels on Cheney.

No, not scientific, as it only includes people who chose to go to the website and vote, but still. I like it.

I'm not sure why people are making such a fuss about Edwards being a lawyer. Most politicians start out as lawyers, it seems. Why is this a bad thing? I think his trial experience served him well. If only he didn't remind me of John Ritter so.

It's not thst he's a lawyer per say, but a MALPRACTICE lawyer. I live in NC and what I have heard is that it's because of is tacticts that the malpractice insurance rate is a s high as it is here in NC.

I haven't had time to research more that that, and I know that hearing it, isn't automatically proof, but it may give you a ground to research from.

Hope that helps.

the poll is less a reflection of ability and more a reflection of the fact that terry mcollough sent out an email yesterday asking people to rate the debate immediately afterwards -- which is something the republicans did in 2000 and were able to turn gores first victory into tie or a defeat by crushing, well placed spin. i think the media is calling cheney edwards a draw. certianly it wasn't anything like Kerry slapping the President around last week like a dazed chimp.
