Just set up the new phone.

And it immediately started to do the same. damn. thing. Cycle off and on every time I text.

In other words, this is a glitch somewhere in the files. And every phone I get, the same glitch gets into it when I synch it with my computer. I called tech support, and wonder of wonders, they can't do anything. I have to take it to a Sprint store because-- get this!-- there's no way to do a hard reset myself. As for what I'm supposed to do AFTER that, well, the tech was a little unsure.

So sick of this.

Nikki - I've been following your frustration with empathy. I have Verizon and have the same power cycling thing happening with the 7 EnV's and the 3 Voyagers I have gone through since last March (that would be of '08).

Finally a tech person did tell me that there is a known bug in the software that they don't advertise (and apparently don't teach their tech support about) that causes the power cycling if I am logged into AOL or Yahoo IM (mobile IM) from the phone.

Sounds like this may not just be Verizon (or Sprint) wide and perhaps they all collectively need to hire a highschool computer kid to fix the bug!!

Until then, when I am on an important phone call I guess I will just have to log out of mobile IM (sigh) and/or just accept that this is the crappy service that anyone can provide at this point in time.
